Christ the Redeemer Catholic Schools offers safe and caring environments that cultivate students’ unique gifts and self-understanding. Across their education, students will have broad, age-appropriate exposure to career pathways. To support transitions to post-secondary and the workplace, students will have access to engaging career resources and hands-on experiential learning to make connections beyond the classroom and in the community. With a design-thinking lens, school staff provide pastoral support to students to scaffold planning for the future. Students will be empowered with hope and confidence to continue their career journeys and decision-making in a complex world that is full of opportunities.

CTR students in elementary and junior high grades will explore their interests and reflect on areas of passion, which may help inform future career choices. Alberta’s curriculum provides the opportunity for elementary students to begin exploring future pathways, and we use programs like myBlueprint in junior high for students to begin exploring careers and build resumes and portfolios for future use. While high school tends to focus more on career decision-making, elementary and junior high provides an excellent opportunity for teachers and students to prayerfully explore God’s plan for their future!

Our high schools all have designated staff responsible for providing support and resources to students and their families with career, post-secondary, and high school planning. Although course offerings will vary, our schools offer an array of courses that develop their knowledge and skills; complementary courses also support the exploration of emerging career interests. Through off-campus education and partnerships with community organizations, students can gain hands-on experience that supports career decision-making and future transitions.
