Senior art students had the opportunity to visit a few downtown art galleries last week. They listened to artists speak about their artistic journey, and had a peek at the new art and performance space at internationally acclaimed Carter Ryan Gallery, and finally they saw former OLS student Kayla Eykelboom’s art featured at Avens Gallery. Check out her work! https://www.kaylaeykelboom.com

Not to be outdone by all the fun Jr. High students have been experiencing, our Sr. High students participated in a fun evening of games to break up the November blahs. Great school spirit and leadership was shown by our grade 12s who organized the event. We can’t wait for December’s fun evening: Gingerbread House making competition!
Did you know that our Junior High teachers organize a Fun Friday every month as a mental health break for students? Our superintendent Dr. Andrea Holowka joined us for our October hoe down. Students also participated in a scarecrow building competition and concluded with a Litany of the Saints for All Saints Day. The day was filled with lots of plaid, proper hats, boots for stompin’ and good ole fashion fun. We’re all looking forward to November’s fun Friday theme “Cozy Up”.
We remember those who have served and continue to serve; the sacrifice they and their families have made to protect our freedom. They gave their tomorrow, so we could have our today. Lest we forget. Last Post by Anthony Finnigan

Grade 12 students, Miriam and Nami presented their “Greenfoot” Sustainability Club initiative to Christ the Redeemer’s Board of Trustees this afternoon. Through their research, they found ways to reduce the school’s carbon footprint and potentially save our school board over $600000 by focusing on building efficiencies. They also presented their project at the #decarbonize youth summit, and the Bow Valley Bisophere’s Climate Action Conference. This is youth leadership at its finest! #olslearning
