Today we celebrated our second mass of the school year. We are so grateful for the opportunity to come together again as a whole school to celebrate our faith. #olsfaith
Last week, OLS jr. and sr. students participated in Cross Country Zones in Trochu. It was an awesome day filled with friendly competition! Congratulations to Thomas in grade 11 and Ariane in grade 10 who qualified for provincials! #olsathletics
Today we had our first fire drill of the school year and it was very successful! Our goal with drills is to be prepared in the event of an emergency and to learn ahead of time if we have areas to improve on. All of our emergency drills are done in coordination with NDM and you would never know we had two full schools out on the field today. Students and staff did a fantastic job!
October 2 is National Custodial Workers’ Recognition Day, a day in which we recognize and show appreciation to our custodians, and maintenance staff who work tirelessly each day to ensure the smooth operation of our school. They go above and beyond, working before, during and after school hours, across holidays and summer breaks ensuring we have a safe and clean building to learn, play and pray in. Thank you Rose, Neil, Allan and Evelyn for all that you do day in and day out!
Celebrate 1 month, a week or a day, but educate 12 months. Throughout this week, classes focused on age-appropriate student learning, raising awareness of the impact of residential schools, honouring the experience of survivors, their families and communities, and building cultural awareness. At the end of the week we were able to come together to honour our learning and all those we have to learn from. May God bless Canada’s Truth and Reconciliation process. 🧡
Our teachers are excited as they continue their life-long journey of learning with in-person professional development!
CTR Catholic is accepting applications for Non-Certificated Classroom Supervisors (NCSS). Casual, on call positions are available at Our Lady of the Snows. Congratulations to Angus Greenwood who has recently been selected to the Young Canadians' Parliament. “The Young Canadians’ Parliament (YCP) program educates children and youth about their rights and the democratic system in Canada. Young people learn how to advocate for themselves and others – even at the highest levels of government – and speak up on the issues that matter most to their generation. The YCP program promotes anti-oppressive practices and fosters resilience among young people. The program also seeks to advance principles and actions that promote justice, equity, diversity, inclusion and belonging.”
There’s still time to donate if you haven’t gotten the opportunity! We are looking forward to sharing photos in the near future! What an awesome day!
We pray you and your family had a healthy and blessed summer with family and friends! Please stay tuned for an email today with back to school details!
Congratulations to Molly Ellis who has recently been selected to be a part of the Minister of Education's Youth Council for the 2022-23 school year. Molly is one of 40 students from across the province that will be providing suggestions and ideas to the Minister to help shape Alberta’s education system.
Wishing everyone a safe, healthy and happy summer! We hope you find time to recharge and we look forward to seeing you all at the end of August!
Celebrating our grads in style this evening! We are so blessed to be in person again!
We are so grateful for Father Lezano joining us for our liturgy this eve! Father Nathan couldn’t make it so he recorded a message for our grads before he left.

A few months ago, Zach's essay was entered into a competition by his teacher, in which he won and was given an opportunity to spend the day at the Legislature. After a full morning tour, Zach got to join Question Period, spend some time with numerous Ministers, and had a one on one with The Speaker. What an incredible opportunity!
