We would love for our parents of students in Grade 4, 7 and 10 to fill out the Alberta Education Assurance Survey which will be coming to your mailbox anytime after Feb. 6! Deadline is March 3, 2023.
World Day of the Sick is on Feb 11th. We will be coming together for a school-wide rosary on February 10th and will be praying for all those special intentions students have added to our prayer trees in the front foyer and those in our hearts. Parents are welcome to join us for our 11:15 a.m. start time in the gymnasium. #olsfaith
Our Grade 7 Girls' Basketball Team played at OLS yesterday after school. Our teams have been busy with practices and games, and it is showing! The athletic skill development, team building, and confidence of individual players is evident with each game we attend. Well done coaches and players! #olsavalanche
Grade three kindergarten buddies were at it again! The opportunity to develop leadership skills as an older buddy class provides numerous learning opportunities for students of all ages! The photos are a small glimpse into a regular occurrence across the school, throughout the grades!

Kindergarten students were busy in PE class learning gymnastics and practicing hand-eye coordination today! It was a fun class that needed lots of concentration and the photographer was a bit distracting 😀 #olslearning
Our grade fives were busy on Friday with a Science Day! We had a few mad scientists in the building but all experiments went off without a hitch! #olslearning
Our Grade 8 Boys Basketball team played LGMS this afternoon. It was a very close game with LGMS coming out on top in the last 15 seconds! What a game! Thank you to our student, parent, community, and teacher coaches for making our teams possible!
Mr. Simon’s time is all ‘booked’ up with the start of his OLS Book Club! The grade 6 to 9 club takes place on Wednesdays from 3:15-5:00 p.m. and will continue until April. Students can read on their own or join a group where they are reading the same book. Come check it out!
We had an incredible evening at OLS on Tuesday, January 17th celebrating fine arts. Our junior high students showcased their talents with art, guitar and drama. There were beautiful art displays in the atrium and soothing music from our guitarists. Afterwards, the gym was filled with laughter as the drama class put on their play about driving. Thank you to everyone who came out! #olslearning
Lego Club for grades 1 to 6 started yesterday! Over 120 students signed up and 35 student’s names were chosen for our first round! Everyone will get a chance to participate before the end of the school year! #OLSClubs
Transportation Update: Dec. 22 6:30 am: Our school is open, however, in-town and rural buses will not run as it has been deemed too cold for students to wait at bus stops, particularly if the bus was to run late. Students and staff driving to school should exercise caution giving them extra time. We apologize for this continued disruption. On Friday, staff and students had the opportunity to volunteer at Our Lady of the Rockies Parish for their Christmas dinner.
