🔥 OLS Paralympic Spirit Day – March 6 Students are encouraged to wear red and white or their favourite country’s colours as we celebrate the determination and perseverance of Paralympic athletes. Let’s show our spirit! #WeAreOLS #ParalympicSpirit #CelebrateAbility
Grads will be collecting in many neighbourhoods on Feb 28 from 9.30 am - 12.30 pm. Please let a Grad or a Grad Parent know if you’d like a custom pick up from your home or business. You can also drop off your refundables at Banff or Canmore bottle depots for the OLS Grad 2026 account at any time. #WeAreOLS #Grad2026
💗 Kindness Matters at OLS 💗 On February 25, we invite our entire OLS community to wear pink as we take a stand against bullying. At Our Lady of the Snows, we believe every student is created in God’s image — valued, loved, and enough. Let’s show what Avalanche spirit looks like: courage, compassion, and kindness in action. Wear pink. Choose kindness. Be the reason someone feels seen. #KindnessMatters #WeAreOLS #PinkShirtDay #StandUpForOthers
During the teachers Faith Days retreat we celebrated a leader who quietly and consistently lives out the Beatitudes — leading with humility, integrity, compassion, and faith. Mr. Simon’s commitment to Christ-centered education is evident in the way he supports students, encourages staff, and models what it means to serve with heart. His witness is not just in words, but in daily actions — choosing patience, kindness, and courage even in the busiest seasons. Our school community is stronger because of his steady leadership and faithful example. Thank you, Mr. Simon, for reminding us what it means to be the light of Christ in our halls each day. We are blessed to walk alongside you. #CatholicWitness #FaithInAction #LivingTheBeatitudes #WeAreOLS
Today we celebrate love in all the ways it shows up in our community — in friendship bracelets exchanged at recess, in hallway high-fives, in quiet acts of kindness, and in the reminder we share weekly: You Matter & You’re Loved. 🤍 Valentine’s Day isn’t just about cards and treats — it’s about choosing compassion, patience, and joy. It’s about seeing one another the way God sees us — worthy, cherished, and deeply loved. To our students, staff, and families — thank you for being part of a school community where love leads. Happy Valentine’s Day, OLS. #WeAreOLS #AvalancheSpirit #YouMatterYoureLoved #ChooseLove #CatholicEducation
What a beautiful way to gather as a school community! Today we flipped, served, and shared more than just pancakes — we shared smiles, laughter, and Avalanche spirit. 💙 A HUGE thank you to our incredible volunteers who made this morning possible. From the early morning cooking crew who arrived before the sun to mix, flip, and keep those griddles going… to our amazing servers who welcomed each class with warm plates and even warmer hearts — we couldn’t have done it without you. You turned an ordinary day into something special for our students. Community. Service. Joy. That’s the OLS way. #WeAreOLS #OLSAvalanche #PancakeDay #GratefulHearts #BuiltForCommunity 🥞💙

Flashlights on, books open, hearts full. Our K–3 classrooms were extra cozy during Flashlight Friday Reading as students curled up with good stories and soft light. We were especially proud of our Grade 2 and 3 students, who showed beautiful leadership by reading to our Kindergarten and Grade 1 friends. There’s something special about older students slowing down, sharing a story, and helping younger readers feel safe, welcomed, and inspired. A simple moment. A shared story. Big leadership in little ways. #FlashlightFriday #CozyReading #ReadingTogether #StudentLeadership #WeAreOLS
Traditionally we celebrate Shrove Tuesday, but since it falls during our February break this year, we’re flipping the plan (literally 😉). Join us on Friday, February 13 as we come together as a school community to enjoy pancakes before the break—a fun, cozy way to celebrate, connect, and kick off some well-earned time off. VOLUNTEERS are a MUST to help with cooking, serving, and clean-up. If you’re able to lend a hand, even for a short time, it will make all the difference in ensuring this special tradition goes ahead. Please sign up using the link below to help make Pancake Friday possible. 🔗volunteersignup.org/FT48R #PancakeFriday #OLSCommunity #VolunteersNeeded #ItTakesAVillage #WeAreOLS
Small acts can make a big difference. From February 3–13, we’re collecting non-perishable food items to support three important local partners: • Canmore Food Bank • Homelessness Society of the Bow Valley • Mînî Thnî Let’s come together as a community to help fill shelves, warm hearts, and support our neighbours who need it most. Every item counts. #FoodDrive #CommunityCare #ActsofService #WeAreOLS #AvalancheSpirit
Something new is growing at Our Lady of the Snows! We are thrilled to announce our new Nature-Inspired Kindergarten Program at OLS. We know Canmore families value the outdoors, so we’ve designed a curriculum that offers the “best of both worlds.” What’s New? The Perfect Balance: A blend of foundational classroom learning (stories and numbers) with active outdoor exploration. The Magic of Nature: We use natural materials like stones, logs, and pulleys to encourage children to think critically, solve problems, and lead their own discovery. Faith-Filled Growth: Connecting with God and each other through the beauty of our mountain backyard. Give your child a space to wonder, play, and grow. Limited spaces available for fall registration! 🔗 Visit our website to learn more: ourladyofthesnows.redeemer.ab.ca #WeAreOLS #KindergartenRegistration #WelcomeToKindergarten #LittleLearners #NatureInspiredLearning
