Dear Students, Parents and Guardians: Due to the prospect of it raining today, Grade 12 students have decided to move their grad parade to Monday, June 14th, at 5:00 p.m. The weather is forecasted to be warm and sunny and better suited for this event. The event will follow the same schedule as previously noted. Refer to below: Graduation Certificates and Grad Parade – Monday, June 14th, 2021 at 5:00 p.m. At 5:00 p.m., students are asked to come to school (wearing their cap and gown) with their family in their decorated vehicle and proceed to the drop off loop in front of the school. We ask that each family come to the parade with only one vehicle. A special graduation reception area will be prepared to greet graduates and their family. Each family vehicle will be directed to the reception area one car at a time. When approaching the drop off loop, please wait at the pylons until the area is clear of cars and you are directed to approach. Once parked, only the graduate will be permitted to leave the vehicle and approach Mr. Landry. We ask that the graduate sit in the passenger seat beforehand when coming to the event. Mr. Landry will follow strict COVID protocols in congratulating graduates and in handing out their certificates. Ms. Watson will take a memorable photo that will later be shared with each family. It is very important that family members stay in their vehicle at all times so we can adhere to COVID protocols. Once students return to their vehicle, they will be directed to the bus loop in order to be lined up for the parade. While preparing for the parade, we ask that families also stay in their vehicle at all times to adhere to COVID protocols. Once all cars are all lined up for the parade, it will be led by the RCMP and our activity bus to the areas noted below. We encourage graduates to decorate their vehicles for this event. Please note that the parade route does take vehicles onto Highway 1. Please make sure decorations are adhered well onto your vehicles. Graduates in a vehicle with a sunroof (not necessary however) will be permitted to stand through it and wave at people once on the streets noted below. At all other times everyone should be wearing their seat belts. • Leave Our Lady of the Snows – 5:45 p.m. • Fitzgerald Drive through to Dyrgas Gate - 6:00 p.m. to 6:20 p.m. • Lady MacDonald Drive - 6:30 p.m. to 6:50 p.m. • Eagle Point - 7:00 p.m. to 7:20 p.m. • Cougar Creek Drive - 7:30 p.m. to 7:50 p.m. Please note that the times are just approximations due to the nature of the event. Please pass on this information to friends and family so they can come out and congratulate our graduates.
