Joy, hope, and new life—Easter reminds us what is possible. 🌿✝️ Wishing our OLS community a beautiful Easter filled with peace, love, and time with those who matter most. #WeAreOLS #EasterJoy #eastersunday
Today, Mr. Diakow’s Grade 9 class didn’t just learn—they felt it. Carrying kettlebells, students experienced a small glimpse of the physical weight Jesus bore on the cross. A powerful reminder that His sacrifice was not just symbolic—it was real, heavy, and full of love. #WeAreOLS #FaithInAction #HolyWeek
🚨 URGENT OLS UPDATE 🚨 Cups have been banned. We are currently dealing with: • a traffic pylon • a rain boot • a watering can • an NRS dry bag?! At this time, we are unable to confirm if staff are okay. #WeAreOLS #AprilFools #AnythingButACup

From high-fives in the hallways to pumping up the crowd, Bernard helped get everyone fired up and ready to cheer on our teams. School spirit was definitely alive and well today! Thanks for helping make it such a fun and energetic rally. The OLS Avalanche showed up loud and proud! #WeAreOLS #OLSAvalanche #SchoolSpirit #PepRallyEnergy #AvalanchePride
A rainbow over Our Lady of the Snows this morning — welcoming students, staff, and another day of learning, laughter, and faith together. Moments like this remind us how special our OLS community truly is. #WeAreOLS #OLSAvalanche #YouMatterYoureLoved #MountainSchoolLife
Junior High students stepped into a powerful tradition as they reenacted the Stations of the Cross. Walking together through the snow beneath the mountains, they paused to reflect on the journey of Jesus—each step offering a moment for prayer, empathy, and understanding. Experiencing the Stations in this way helps bring the story to life, reminding us of the courage, sacrifice, and love at the heart of our faith. We are proud of our students for approaching this experience with such respect and reflection. #WeAreOLS #StationsOfTheCross #FaithInAction #LentJourney

Don’t forget to wear green Tuesday as we celebrate St. Patrick’s Day at OLS! Whether it’s a green shirt, socks, hat, or a full festive outfit — let’s see the halls filled with green spirit. We can’t wait to see all the creative ways our students show their St. Patrick’s Day pride! #WeAreOLS #StPatricksDay #WearGreen #SchoolSpirit
We were thrilled to welcome two incredible musicians to share their talents with our students. Alex Kusturok, a third-generation fiddle player, discovered his passion for the Métis fiddle at age seven. Deeply rooted in family and culture, Alex proudly shares his Indigenous heritage from Wabigoon Lake First Nation through his music. In 2022, he was part of the Métis delegation that travelled to Rome, where he shared his music with Pope Francis. Alex has toured across Canada, the U.S., and Europe and has received numerous awards. We were also joined by Robbie Fraser, a teacher at JPII in Okotoks and a celebrated Cape Breton musician who has played traditional East Coast Celtic music his entire life and collaborated with artists such as Ashley MacIsaac. A special OLS moment was seeing our very own Vera and Blake join them on stage to share their fiddle talents with the crowd. Thank you, Alex and Robbie, for sharing your music and culture with us! #WeAreOLS #MétisCulture #FiddleMusic #StudentTalent #CelebrateTheArts
Who says rocking out has an age limit? Certainly not our Grade 4–6 cast of Off Their Rockers! Our stage was taken over by a group of “retirement home residents” who proved that the golden years are actually the rockin’ years. From rocking chairs with swagger to dance moves that would make Elvis proud, our students had the audience laughing, clapping, and wondering if the retirement home had secretly turned into a concert venue. A huge round of applause goes to our incredible student actors who brought the humour, energy, and heart to every scene. Your confidence, comedic timing, and willingness to fully embrace your inner rock star made the show unforgettable. A very special thank you to Mrs. Cooney and Mrs. Skinner, whose dedication, patience, and creativity made this production possible. From rehearsals to choreography to those perfectly timed punchlines, their hard work helped our students shine on stage. And a special shout-out to Tanis Lod for all the incredible costume prep. The “retirement home chic” helped bring these characters to life! Bravo to everyone involved — you proved that when it comes to talent at OLS, we’re definitely not ready for the rocking chair yet! #WeAreOLS #OLSArts #OffTheirRockers #StudentTalent #StandingOvation

🇨🇦 Paralympic Spirit Day at OLS! Our school was a sea of red today as students showed their Canadian pride and came ready to cheer on our incredible Paralympic athletes! The energy in the hallways was electric as we kicked off our celebration of perseverance, courage, and the true spirit of sport. We can’t wait to follow the events, celebrate the athletes, and learn from their inspiring journeys. Bring it on! ❤️ #WeAreOLS #ParalympicSpirit #TeamCanada #OLSCommunity #AvalanchePride
