Today, students were met with sheer confusion as they approached the office to call home on our brand new “school phone”—a bright, colorful Fisher-Price classic. You could practically see the gears turning in their heads as they tried to figure out how to make it work. Spoiler alert: it wasn’t happening! And if that wasn’t enough, the new “student sign-out sheet”? An Etch A Sketch masterpiece that required some serious artistic talent just to write a name. Students stood there, pens in hand, contemplating their next move. Call home? Sign out? Suddenly, life’s simplest tasks became a test of patience and ingenuity! Kudos to our front office assistant Mrs. O’Toole for keeping the April Fools’ spirit alive and for reminding us all to embrace a little fun and laughter. We had the privilege of welcoming back one of our own—alumni student Carly—who returned to our Social Studies class to share her insights on reconciliation. With wisdom beyond her years, she invited students into a heartfelt conversation about what reconciliation truly means and how each of us can make it meaningful in our own lives. Her presence was a reminder that learning extends beyond the classroom, that voices—both young and old—matter, and that the journey toward healing and understanding is one we must walk together.
